THE IDEA
Wolf & White approached Encore with a vision: to transform Old Billingsgate into a unique experience that showcased Wella’s TrendVision Awards like never before. Breaking away from traditional setups, the team positioned the stage in front of the balcony instead of the usual far-end wall, utilising the balcony as a presentation platform. This unconventional layout required meticulous planning and seamless execution to ensure it elevated the guest experience while meeting the high-quality standards expected by the client.
Encore’s role was clear: deliver a flawless technical production, from staging to lighting, sound, and video, all while adhering to the creative design outlined by Wolf & White.
THE REALITY
Executing Wolf & White’s innovative design required tight coordination and expert problem-solving, particularly given Old Billingsgate’s challenging load-in and load-out conditions. Encore’s team worked closely with Wolf & White to align on every detail, ensuring that their vision was realized within budget and to the highest standards.
Key technical highlights included:
- Stage and Scenic: 50 stage decks and 70 stage flats formed the foundation of the unique stage design.
- Lighting: 80 moving lights created dynamic effects that brought the showcases to life.
- Audio: 20 point source speakers provided distributed coverage, ensuring every guest enjoyed clear and immersive sound.
- Visuals: 216 LED panels delivered stunning visuals that captured the creativity of the evening.
Despite the logistical complexities, the Encore team executed the build and breakdown efficiently, ensuring the event was delivered seamlessly and on time.
The creative partnership between Wolf & White and Encore resulted in an event that exceeded expectations. The innovative stage layout, combined with exceptional technical production, offered guests a truly unique experience. Feedback highlighted the high-quality finish and attention to detail, with the event standing out as a showcase of what can be achieved through collaboration and innovation.
