Women of Encore

Victoria Druckrey

Head of Sales

Introduction

I’m Victoria, Head of Sales at Encore. I’ve been with the company for several years, and what initially drew me in was the people and the culture. From the very beginning, it was clear that Encore genuinely values collaboration, creativity, and growth. What really stood out to me was the opportunity to work alongside passionate people who support one another and are committed to delivering incredible experiences for our clients.

1. Walk us through a typical day in your role

No two days are ever the same, which is what I enjoy most. My day might involve meetings with clients, collaborating with sales teams, supporting sales strategy, mentoring team members, and helping bring exciting event concepts to life.

2. What part of your role gives you the most satisfaction?

The most satisfying part is seeing the impact of teamwork. Watching an event come together successfully is always rewarding, but seeing people within the team grow in confidence and succeed in their careers is just as fulfilling.

3. What inspired you to work in event production?

I was drawn to event production because it combines creativity, people, and problem solving in one industry. Events have a unique ability to bring people together and create memorable experiences, and I love being part of that. I also quickly realised that this industry offers a wide variety of career paths and opportunities to grow, whether your strengths are in leadership, creativity, technology, or operations.

4. Looking back to when you started, what surprised you most about the industry?

What surprised me most was how much happens behind the scenes to make an event look effortless. There is so much teamwork, communication, and adaptability involved. I was also pleasantly surprised by how supportive the industry can be. Early on, I met people who were willing to mentor me, answer my questions, and encourage me to keep growing, which made a huge difference to my confidence.

5. What’s the most challenging part of your role?

The biggest challenge is the pace. Live events move fast, and things can change very quickly, so you need to stay calm under pressure and adapt. Over time, I’ve learned that challenges are where the most growth happens. You become more resilient, more confident in your decision making, and better at trusting both yourself and your team.

6. What are you most proud of in your career, and what milestones are you looking to achieve next?

I’m most proud of the people I’ve been able to support and mentor throughout my career. Seeing team members step into leadership roles, gain confidence, and succeed is incredibly rewarding. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue helping shape a workplace where more women feel empowered to take on leadership roles and know they truly belong in this industry.

7. What advice would you give someone considering a career in event production?

‘’Don’t wait until you feel completely ready. This industry is all about learning, adapting, and growing through experience. Be curious, ask questions, and trust in your own ability’’. Event production needs diverse perspectives and skill sets, and there is absolutely space for women to thrive and lead.

8. Working in a fast paced environment can be daunting. How did you build your confidence?

At the beginning of my career, I focused on learning rather than trying to be perfect. I asked for feedback, observed people I admired, and reminded myself that confidence comes with experience. Over time, every challenge helped me build resilience and trust in my abilities. Having supportive colleagues and mentors was also key to my personal and professional growth.
