2025 has been a thrilling year for live theatre, and Encore has been at the heart of it all, providing world-class technical solutions to productions across the UK and beyond. From timeless classics to bold new works, our year in theatre was nothing short of spectacular. Highlights included the enduring allure of Phantom of the Opera, the high-energy thrills of Titanique and Back to the Future, and the sizzling excitement of Magic Mike London.

We also celebrated the wit and charm of Mean Girls the Musical, the poignant storytelling of The Lonely Londoners, and the playful satire of Barmy Britain. Audiences were captivated by the innovative adaptations of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the spellbinding Coven, and the thought-provoking The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs.

It has been a privilege to play a part in bringing these stories to the stage. 2025 has reminded us why theatre continues to inspire, challenge, and delight audiences from all walks of life.

From family favourites to daring new works, our UK tours showcased a diverse array of storytelling. Highlights included the mischievous fun of Awful Auntie, the historical hilarity of Horrible Histories, and the heartwarming charm of Matilda the Musical. Opera enthusiasts were treated to Scottish Opera’s exquisite productions of Merry Widow and La Bohème, while families delighted in classics like The Railway Children and The Snowman.

The year also saw powerful dramatic works on the road: the haunting Birdsong, the whimsical The Little Prince, and the sharp, contemporary wit of Eureka Day. Audiences engaged with challenging and thought-provoking pieces such as Death and the King’s Horseman, Girls and Boys, and the thrilling mystery Picture You Dead.

For younger audiences, The Parent Agency provided laughter and inspiration, while timeless classics like A Streetcar Named Desire and inventive new works such as Kenrex captivated theatre-goers of all ages. And, in a spectacular blend of psychology and showmanship, Derren Brown’s Only Human had audiences mesmerised from start to finish.

After successful tour runs, we saw the Hamilton UK and Ireland Tour and the Book of Mormon UK and International Tour come to a close. We are immensely proud to have supported these productions, both highlighting our commitment to investing in the latest technology in collaboration with creative and production teams alike, delighting audiences across the UK and Europe. Summer with Assembly and Summerhall at the Edinburgh Festival also saw our support, showcasing theatre across Scotland’s most vibrant festival venues.

Touring theatre in 2025 reminded us of the power of storytelling to connect communities across the UK, bringing unforgettable performances to stages large and small.

2025 wasn’t just about London and the UK, our productions also travelled abroad, bringing the magic of British theatre to audiences in China. Two standout shows made a remarkable impression: Singin’ in the Rain and Matilda the Musical.

Singin’ in the Rain dazzled audiences with its classic charm, iconic choreography, and unforgettable music, proving that the timeless appeal of this golden-age musical knows no borders. Meanwhile, Matilda the Musical captivated young and old alike with its wit, heart, and spectacular performances, delighting audiences in a new cultural context and further cementing its status as a global theatre phenomenon.

Beyond productions, 2025 was also a year of celebrating talent and innovation in theatre. We were proud to sponsor several prestigious awards that recognise excellence across the industry.
